The Northern Lights season runs September through March, and honestly, any month in that window gives you a real shot at seeing them. That said, our experience in the field consistently shows March produces the strongest displays. Solar activity peaks in late winter, and when conditions align, the shows are extraordinary.
While we cannot predict the future with 100% certainty, historically, our success rate for spotting the Northern Lights is 90%+. If we are able to locate cloudless skies for a long enough duration, that chance increases to nearly 100% that the aurora will appear at some point during the hunt.
Our average tour duration for both Small Group and Group tours is typically 5–8 hours. However, on our Small Group tours, the experience can extend up to 12 hours depending on cloud coverage and how far we need to travel to find clear skies.
Good attitude, warm clothes and possibly some food. We offer hot drinks and cookies on the hunts.
While we cannot control the weather or guarantee that the Northern Lights will appear, we guarantee your satisfaction: if you don't see them, you can choose a full refund or reschedule as many times as needed until you do.
Pair a daytime Arctic experience with a guaranteed Northern Lights hunt the same evening.
