Each night is different and that’s what makes it so special. Our guides adapt the route, timing, and stops based on real-time aurora activity and local weather. Here's how your Northern Lights hunt typically unfolds.

Pickup from Your Hotel in Rovaniemi

We’ll contact you with the exact time based

on weather usually between 17:00–21:00.

Scenic Drive into the Wilderness

Your guide selects the best possible viewing spot
using live aurora data and weather maps.

Waiting for the Magic

We'll build a small campfire, enjoy Lappish snacks, sip
hot drinks, and keep cozy in the van while we wait.

Enjoy the Show

When the lights appear, your guide will be ready
to capture incredible photos of you under the aurora.

5.

Drop-off in Rovaniemi

Once the night ends, we’ll drive you back, sometimes
after 2 hours, or after 10, depending on conditions.

When is the best time to see the Northern Lights?

The best time to see northern lights are September-March, however the solar activity is strongest during spring time

What is included in an aurora hunt tour?

Our tours include transportation and pick-up within 10km range of Rovaniemi city center, a local guide and a hot drinks and snacks.

How long do aurora hunt tours last?

Hunts typically lasts 3-5 hours, but can last up to 12 hours sometimes, if the cloud coverage is high and we have to drive far away. Furthest we drove last season was 380km one way.

What should I bring on an aurora hunt?

Good attitude, warm clothes and possibly some food. We offer light snacks and warm drinks on the hunts.

What is Guaranteed Aurora Hunt?

We will give you full refund, or reschedule the hunt for a better day, if there is availability, if we don't see northern light!
